Nauvoo Illinois Temple - Dedicated June 27, 2002
The Nauvoo Temple was originally built by the early saints through much hardship and sacrifice. In May of 1846, the temple was dedicated and became the second operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Unfortunatly a few years later in 1848, the temple was destroyed by fire. In April of 1999 President Gordon B. Hinckley, prophet of the church, announced that the temple would be rebuilt. Following its reconstruction, the Nauvoo Illinois Temple was dedicated on June 27, 2002, making it the 113th operating temple in the church.

Hello Family!!

We had an investigator come to church yesterday! This was the first time for Sister Winger to have an investigator come and she couldn't have been happier. It was also her birthday and we had a less active sister come to church as well!!

We have a baptism date set for July 6th with a girl who will be turning 9 at the end of June!! The Elders have been working with her but we have taken over since being in the area. On Friday and Saturday we had exchanges and we helped at the refreshment table for a 5K and half marathon run in Marion. I learned how to cut watermelons!!

Some great news is that President said my companion and I could go the temple this Saturday! That will be a great birthday present! A couple in our ward is receiving their endowments and they are also being sealed!  We also have Zone Conference this Thursday.

We went to the Field of Dreams this afternoon and so I apologies for not having more time to write.

We did have a really bad wind storm last night but we were protected. Sister Anderson went on a 3 mile walk this morning with a ward member around the neighborhood and when she got back she took us on a drive of it to see some of the down trees and limbs. Things were pretty quiet on our street and she says that's because she has the missionaries in her home!

I love you all so much!!
Sister Tucker
