Nauvoo Illinois Temple - Dedicated June 27, 2002
The Nauvoo Temple was originally built by the early saints through much hardship and sacrifice. In May of 1846, the temple was dedicated and became the second operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Unfortunatly a few years later in 1848, the temple was destroyed by fire. In April of 1999 President Gordon B. Hinckley, prophet of the church, announced that the temple would be rebuilt. Following its reconstruction, the Nauvoo Illinois Temple was dedicated on June 27, 2002, making it the 113th operating temple in the church.

Hello Family!!

This last week has been amazing!! On Monday we were able to meet with Laverue, a good friend of Sister Beio's and we invited her to be baptized and we also set a date with her for August 17th. She loved going to church the previous day and she was also there yesterday as well! On Friday we taught the restoration by doing a church tour with her and the spirit was very strong there at the end. It has been a little while since I've done the first vision in a lesson but I was thrilled with the opportunity.

On Thursday we had transfers and Sister Perry was able to drive us down to Iowa City. Her husband was in the mission presidency several years ago but they didn't have the nice transfer meeting they do now so she really enjoyed it. So Sister Moldogalii and I are in a tri companionship with Sister Egbert (Egg Bert). She grew up in Idaho but was living in Utah a few years prior to her mission. She is 19 years old and has a lot of good ideas. This transfer we had 34 new missionaries and next transfer it will be 30 and 30 the following. Right now she is sleeping on an air mattress but she loves it. The first day she arrived we had a first lesson with Chris and his cousin and it went really well. We also had a great dinner appointment with the Larson family in the ward who are so excited to help with lessons and who also have several good friends they want to introduce us to :)

We received approval from the President Jensen to go down to Iowa City two Sundays and have Sister Moldogalii translate for Odmandakh who speaks Mongolian. It went well, the gospel principles lesson was on Eternal Marriage and Odmandakh made several comments.

All in all we had a really great week with 4 member present lessons, 6 other lessons, and 5 new investigators!!

This Saturday we may go to the Nauvoo Pagent and then next Saturday we are planning on going with the ward to the Nauvoo Temple!! We're super excited!! President Jergensen gave me special permission to go this year to the Nauvoo Pagent this year even though I went last year :) Some more good news is that we get to have the car for this transfer!! We are so blessed here in this area!!
