Nauvoo Illinois Temple - Dedicated June 27, 2002

Nauvoo Illinois Temple - Dedicated June 27, 2002
The Nauvoo Temple was originally built by the early saints through much hardship and sacrifice. In May of 1846, the temple was dedicated and became the second operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Unfortunatly a few years later in 1848, the temple was destroyed by fire. In April of 1999 President Gordon B. Hinckley, prophet of the church, announced that the temple would be rebuilt. Following its reconstruction, the Nauvoo Illinois Temple was dedicated on June 27, 2002, making it the 113th operating temple in the church.

July 9, 2012

For the 4th of July here we went to a parade and saw a number of members there. After the parade we went to a nearby park where they had a carnival set up. We walked around the park and talked with a few people. We ended up running into a family in the ward and she asked us to stay and eat lunch with them. So we ended up having hot dogs for lunch and then some good hamburgers for dinner at an investigators home.

I don't have much time today, but I will write a letter this Wednesday when we have our official P-day. There are transfers this week. My companion and I will be staying here of course.

Take Care!! Love you all!! Thanks for the prayers!!

Love,
Sister Tucker
